According to the Cape Cod Times, "Due to sparsely located polling places in the early days of the United States of America, colonists would need to travel to cast ballots in local and national elections. To keep up voters’ strength, women of hosting towns would serve cakes weighing up to 10 pounds to those going to the polls."

Given the expected turnout next Tuesday, you just might want to have something substantial to pass out to your fellow voters. Get the details by clicking here.

Midday Entree Hall of Fame

Yes folks, we have here some of our all-time favorite recipes, many tested and raved about by your fellow WRCJ listeners.
Friday's irresistible concoction is White House Holiday Fruitcake.

But there's a catch. Our crucial Fall Pledge Drive is underway and in order to get the daily Midday Entree recipe you need The Secret Word. Where do you find it? It's hidden (but not too hidden) on the WRCJ website on one of the four pages of Thank You gifts available for contributions in varying amounts. Look them over, maybe you'll see something you like (that's what we're counting on, of course).

Once you find The Secret Word (which changes every day, by the way) just drop me an email at chris@dptv.org using The Secret Word somewhere in your message (be creative!), and I'll shoot the recipe back to you by return email.

You don't even have to make a donation, though I dearly hope you will. Thanks so much for listening to, and for supporting WRCJ-FM.
